Washington County Chamber Announces 2024 Business Awards Winners

HAGERSTOWN, MD News (2/29/2024) – The Washington County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the achievements of local businesses and individuals at its 25th Annual Business Awards ceremony, held at The Maryland Theatre on February 28, 2024. With over 400 attendees comprising community members, business leaders, and representatives from non-profit organizations, the event was a vibrant showcase of the county’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence.

At Your Service Award

Among the distinguished honorees was Chick-fil-A Hagerstown, recipient of the At Your Service award. Renowned for their dedication to customer satisfaction and community engagement, Chick-fil-A Hagerstown’s expansion to a new location on Sharpsburg Pike not only exemplifies their commitment to service but also underscores their contribution to local job growth, with the addition of 100 new positions.

Large Business of the Year Award

The Large Business of the Year Award was bestowed upon The Arc of Washington County, Inc., recognizing its outstanding efforts in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through personalized programs tailored to individual needs, The Arc empowers its clients to participate fully in society, embodying the principles of inclusivity and compassion.

Non-Profit of the Year Award

Children in Need, Inc. was recognized as the Non-Profit of the Year for its tireless dedication to supporting economically disadvantaged children in Washington County. By providing essential resources such as clothing and hygiene supplies, the organization positively impacts the lives of over 3,000 children annually, fostering confidence and well-being within the community.

Small Business of the Year Award

The Small Business of the Year Award was presented to the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH), acknowledging its role in providing accessible higher education opportunities to local students. Through collaborative partnerships and innovative programs, USMH contributes to the educational and economic vitality of the region, reflecting its commitment to lifelong learning and community engagement.

Young Professional of the Year Award

Dr. Michael Hann was honored as the Young Professional of the Year for his exemplary leadership as Chief Medical Officer at Brook Lane. Dr. Hann’s dedication to advancing mental health services in Washington County embodies the spirit of innovation and compassion, inspiring future generations of professionals.

Business Person of the Year
