UPDATE: Prince George’s County Law Enforcement believes they have found the remains of Shawn Hall.

HAGERSTOWN, MD – On June 3rd, 2023, the Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) announced a search for Shawn Hall, a 59-year-old resident who was last heard from on May 28th. With the case now approaching the three-month mark, the community is still grappling with a lack of concrete information regarding his whereabouts.

Hall’s last communication was on the evening of May 28th, around 10 p.m. What he was wearing at the time remains unknown. The HPD disclosed that Hall was operating a 2010 maroon Ford Fusion and may have been in the DC area. Despite this information, no substantial leads have emerged, leaving both his family and law enforcement without a clear direction in the search.

The discovery of Hall’s car added another layer of complexity to the case. However, Hagerstown Police have yet to make any official announcements regarding this development, leaving the public with more questions than answers. Wesley, Hall’s son, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to alleviate the financial strain caused by the ongoing situation. The campaign sheds light on the legal challenges surrounding a missing person’s assets and property, adding a layer of complexity to an already perplexing case.

Shawn Hall’s professional background includes his role as a Maintenance Technician for Tractor Supply Company. Prior to this, he served as a chaplain at the Maryland Correctional Training Center until 2021. Social media posts from the center highlighted his approach as a chaplain, focusing on offering support to the incarcerated individuals, emphasizing their value and providing them a space to express themselves. Hall also has numerous family members across the globe who desperately seek closure.

The Hagerstown Police Department continues to urge anyone with information to contact them at 240-313-4345. As the community waits for answers, the details surrounding Shawn Hall’s disappearance remain sparse, leaving both local residents and law enforcement with a growing sense of perplexity and an intensified need for resolution.
