HAGERSTOWN, MD News (6/30/2023) – The City of Hagerstown proudly announces the promotion of Tyler Puffenberger to Deputy Director for Water and Wastewater.

Since 2014, Puffenberger, who holds a 4-year degree in criminal justice, has worked as both an operator and assistant superintendent of water production at the City’s R. C. Willson Water Treatment Plant.

“I’m excited to welcome Tyler to his new position,” Nancy Hausrath, City Utilities Director said. “Tyler has contributed greatly to the successful operation of the Water Treatment Plant in his previous roles and has consistently demonstrated his ability to work with staff and contractors to move the department forward. His dedication, work ethic, and institutional knowledge will ensure continued required regulatory compliance and enable necessary growth within the Water and Wastewater Department,” she added.

Puffenberger is responsible for management of the day-to-day operations of the water and wastewater facilities.

His first day as Deputy Director for Water and Wastewater was June 12.
