HAGERSTOWN, MD News (1/19/2023) – Radio Free Hub City loves indie artists! A new grant opportunity from The Maryland State Arts Council is open to Maryland artists in many media and genres! To qualify, an artist must be a resident of the state, provide examples of works they are actively creating, and demonstrate how their creations benefit their community.
Independent artists often have to maintain a “day job” and keeping up with living expenses, travel costs, and supplies to create their art can be overwhelming. This grant program aims to ease the financial burden artists face as they rise to success in their sector. Unlike a loan, a grant is money that a recipient does not have to pay back. The Grants for Artists program awards $6000.00 to applicants that are selected. For more information about qualifications necessary to qualify, the application process and more, please visit The Maryland State Arts Council !
