HAGERSTOWN, MD News (10/28/2022) – Members of the local Jeep community are organizing a “1st Memorial Jeeps for Georgie” event, dedicated to fighting childhood cancer through donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event is scheduled to take place on December 10th at Mason Dixon Dragway.
Two years ago people came from near and far to be a part of a time of giving back to a small child and his family, with over 5,000 Jeeps in a parade in Georgie’s honor. Unfortunately, two months later Georgie lost his battle with cancer.
On December 10th, local residents will be hosting a cruise-in in the spirit of Georgie and Jeeps for Georgie to raise funds and support to make sure that one day soon Childhood cancer and catastrophic diseases are a thing no more.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of the organization, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
First 500 vehicles through the gate will receive a Jeeps for Georgie dash plaque and the first 500 Jeeps through the gate that display the original Jeeps for Georgie event badge will receive preferential parking.
Pricing is $10 a head or $25 a vehicle load. $20 to camp overnight.
While the event is Jeep themed, it is open to all vehicles that want to support this great cause. Participants can RSVP at the Facebook event. Donations can also be made online.
