Procter & Gamble has awarded a $20,000 grant to Children In Need, Inc., a Hagerstown-based nonprofit organization, to bolster its programs that provide essential items to underprivileged children in Washington County. The funding will be directed towards the organization’s Client Services and Extended Services programs, which are crucial in supplying local youth with necessities such as clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and shoes. This financial support aims to help Children In Need meet the escalating demands from families facing economic hardship within the county.

The grant will enable Children In Need to continue its vital work supporting a substantial number of children. Currently, the organization assists 2,875 children from 1,147 families through its Client Services Program. Additionally, the Extended Services Program, in collaboration with Washington County Public Schools and other community entities, provides support to over 1,000 additional children annually. Over the past year, Children In Need distributed more than 220,000 free essential items to children and families across Washington County, highlighting the critical role it plays in the community.
