Maryland State Police have released the identities of three individuals who died in a plane crash in Prince George’s County over the weekend. The victims have been identified as Yoav Bomrind, 26, of Israel, who was piloting the aircraft, and passengers David Rabinovich, 19, also of Israel, and Elad Naidik, 20, of Canada. All three were pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is being led by the National Transportation Safety Board.
The incident occurred when a single-engine Piper Cherokee, carrying the pilot and two passengers, was en route from Ocean City, New Jersey, to the Montgomery County Air Park. The aircraft crashed into a wooded area in Bowie for reasons that are not yet determined. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

The crash was first indicated by an iPhone alert received by Prince George’s County Public Safety Communications shortly before midnight on the night of the incident. This alert suggested a crash in the vicinity of Route 50 and 301. A coordinated search effort involving multiple agencies, including the Prince George’s County Fire Department, Maryland State Police units from various divisions, and officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Prince George’s County Police Department, and the Bowie City Police Department, was initiated. Both ground and aerial resources were utilized in the search for the missing aircraft.
The wreckage of the aircraft was discovered at approximately 3:45 a.m. the following morning. It was located in a wooded area near Scarlett Oak Court in Bowie, in close proximity to a residential neighborhood. Forensic analysts from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division were dispatched to the crash site to process the scene and gather evidence. Investigators are operating under the belief that the aircraft may have been associated with a local flight school in Montgomery County and potentially involved in a training flight. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been officially notified and are taking the lead in the ongoing investigation.
