Upon arriving at the scene around 4:52 p.m., law enforcement officers spoke with witnesses who corroborated the claims. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old James Daniel Marker, reportedly refused to come out of his residence or obey commands from deputies. Due to the severity of the situation and the presence of a firearm, the Washington County Special Response Team was deployed to the location.
The Special Response Team successfully took Marker into custody without any injuries being reported among those involved. He was subsequently transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held. Marker faces multiple charges stemming from the incident, including three counts each of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. The legal proceedings will determine his guilt or innocence in this matter, and Marker is innocent until proven guilty.
