The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 700 Sierra 125U Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), sold under various brand names including “Rider 9.” According to the CPSC, these ATVs violate mandatory federal safety standards, posing significant risks of serious injury or death due to crash and burn hazards. The recalled ATVs were sold online and in stores between October 2025 and April 2026 for prices ranging from $800 to $1,300.

The recalled ATVs present multiple safety concerns. They fail to meet the required mechanical suspension standards, increasing the likelihood of loss of control. Additionally, the reverse indicator light does not illuminate, which could lead to collisions. The parking brakes have also been found to be inadequate, posing a collision hazard. Furthermore, surfaces near the footwell can become excessively hot, presenting a risk of severe burns to riders. None of these issues have resulted in reported incidents or injuries, according to the CPSC. The model name “Sierra 125U” is located on the VIN plate on the front frame column, and a specific plate indicating Lil Pick Up Inc.’s Action Plan approved by the CPSC is also present on the left front side of the frame column. These ATVs were available in a variety of colors, including red, blue, black, pink, gray, spider red, and spider blue.
