The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 200 XW-A17 Electric Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), sold under brand names including Sunderwell, due to a violation of mandatory safety standards. According to the CPSC, these recalled ATVs are missing crucial brake lights. This deficiency significantly reduces the visibility of the youth ATV to other vehicles, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death from crashes.

The recalled ATVs are described as XW-A17 Electric Youth ATVs and were available in blue, green, orange, and pink. Consumers can identify the model by checking the identification plate located on the front left side of the frame column, where “Model:XW-A17” will be printed. The identification plate also features statements from Yamazuki, Inc. regarding compliance with the ANSI/SVIA 1-2023 Standard and an ATV Action Plan approved by the CPSC. These ATVs were sold online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com between October 2025 and December 2025, with prices ranging from $500 to $600. The importer of record for these ATVs is Yamazuki Inc., based in Ontario, California, while the manufacturer is Yongkang Ruihe Metal Products Co. Ltd., located in China.
Yamazuki is offering a free repair kit to consumers who purchased the recalled ATVs. The company urges all consumers to immediately stop using the affected youth ATVs and to contact Yamazuki for instructions on how to obtain and install the repair kit. Consumers can reach Yamazuki by phone at 626-420-6433, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Alternatively, individuals can send an email to info@yamazukipowersports.com or visit the company’s website at https://yamazukipowersports.com/pages/recall or https://yamazukipowersports.com/ and navigate to the “Recall” section at the top of the page for more information and to request their repair kit. To date, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
