The evening promises a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of the swing era, featuring live performances by Generations Big Band. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the theme by dressing in 1940s attire, although period dress is not mandatory for participation. The event offers a rare opportunity to get up close with iconic aircraft, including the A-10, and will also feature visiting B-17 and B-25 bombers on site for the duration of the dance. Guests can also anticipate a selection of offerings from local food truck vendors, with a ticketed bar also available for refreshments.
Doors for the Annual 1940s Hangar Dance will open at 6:30 PM, with live music commencing at 7:00 PM. The Hagerstown Aviation Museum is located at 18450 Showalter Road, Building 8, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Tickets for the event are priced at $30 when purchased in advance and will be available for $40 at the door. The museum has noted that tickets tend to sell quickly, advising interested individuals to secure their admission promptly. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older, and identification will be checked at the time of drink ticket purchases.
