The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a critical safety warning, urging consumers to immediately stop using Pariplus Foldable Grill Carts with Wheels, specifically models NWGS2501 and GSPA-2501A. The commission has alerted the public to the significant risk of fingertip amputation and crushing injuries that can occur when these grill carts fold or collapse unexpectedly. Consumers are advised to dispose of these hazardous products and refrain from selling or giving them away to others.
According to the CPSC, at least 21 incidents involving these grill carts have been reported. These incidents detail consumers’ fingers becoming trapped in pinch point areas, particularly within the sliding track mechanism used for the product’s legs. The folding or collapsing motion of the grill cart has resulted in severe injuries, including a reported fingertip amputation, a fractured finger, and five lacerations that required medical attention. The grill carts in question are constructed from steel and feature a surface designed to hold various tabletop grills. They are also equipped with wheels on one side, a side shelf, a paper towel holder, and hooks for grilling accessories.
The Pariplus Foldable Grill Carts were sold online through major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon.com and eBay. The manufacturer, Maiduo, based in China, has not yet agreed to a recall of the products. The CPSC encourages any consumers who have experienced a safety incident with these products to report it through the SaferProducts.gov website.
