The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of approximately 7,200 playground swing set seats sold nationwide, according to a press release from the agency. The recall stems from a potential fall hazard identified in the swing seats, where the rivets used to secure the seat can fail. This failure poses a risk of children falling from the swing.

The recalled products are playground swing set seats sold as components of assembled playground sets. These swing belt seats were available in a variety of colors, including black, blue, green, red, tan, and yellow. Consumers can identify the recalled seats by the code “LF-65708” printed on the seat pad. Only swing sets with model number 999604 are included in this recall. The importer of these swing seats is LFTE USA Inc., located in Cary, North Carolina. These products were manufactured in China.
The recall action comes after the firm received one report of a swing breaking, which resulted in a child falling and sustaining a minor injury. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled playground swings. To address the hazard, LFTE USA is offering a free replacement swing seat to all affected consumers. Little Tikes Commercial and Miracle Recreation Equipment, the companies that sold these products, have reportedly contacted all known purchasers directly to arrange for replacements.
These recalled swing seats were sold nationwide between January 2025 and September 2025. They were sold to playground manufacturers for between $80 and $95. It is important to note that the swing belt seat was exclusively sold directly to playground manufacturers and was not available for purchase by individual consumers.
This recall highlights a critical aspect of product safety, particularly for items intended for children’s use. Failures in components like swing seats can lead to unexpected accidents and injuries. Parents and guardians who may have playground equipment with these recalled seats should be vigilant and take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of children using the equipment. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) encourages consumers to report any dangerous products or product-related injuries on their website, SaferProducts.gov.
