The KiddoSpace Fingerpainting Kits are being recalled due to the presence of methanol and ethylene glycol, which violate the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Additionally, the kits contain a regulated phthalate, violating the federal phthalates ban. Phthalates are known to be toxic if ingested by young children and can lead to adverse health effects. Approximately 9,400 units were sold online at TheKiddoSpaceStore.com and Amazon.com between June 2023 and February 2025. TheKiddoSpace has received 18 reports worldwide, including one in the United States, of strong paint odor, skin irritation, and swollen lymph nodes associated with these kits. Consumers are instructed to contact TheKiddoSpace for a full refund, which will require them to mark the product as “RECALL” and send a photo.
Approximately 4,300 units of TheKiddoSpace Reusable Water Balloons are also subject to recall. The cord lock on the storage bags for these water balloons contains a regulated phthalate, violating the federal phthalates ban. Similar to the fingerpainting kits, phthalates can be toxic if ingested by children. These water balloons were sold online from April 2024 through February 2025. Consumers are asked to stop using the recalled water balloons, take the storage bag away from children, and contact TheKiddoSpace for a free replacement bag. This involves cutting the storage bag in half and sending a photo as proof. No incidents or injuries have been reported for this product.
The KiddoSpace Children’s Flashcard Talking Toys are being recalled because they contain levels of lead and phthalates that exceed federal bans. These substances are harmful if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Furthermore, the flashcards do not comply with short circuit protection requirements for battery-operated toys. About 4,000 units were sold online from October 2023 through February 2025. Consumers with the animal-shaped version of the toy are instructed to write “RECALLED” on the unit and submit a photo to receive a free replacement toy. For the rectangular version, consumers should cut the USB cable, submit a photo, and will receive a free replacement USB cable. Button cell batteries found in these toys should be disposed of or recycled according to local hazardous waste procedures. No incidents or injuries have been reported for this item.
Another recall involves approximately 200 units of TheKiddoSpace Children’s Montessori Egg Toys. These toys, intended for children under three years of age, pose a choking hazard as the egg halves can block a child’s airway. These toys were sold online between June 2023 and February 2025. Consumers are entitled to a full refund and must mark the toy with “RECALLED,” send a photo, and then dispose of the toy. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The KiddoSpace Children’s Christmas Tree Toy Play Sets are being recalled due to lead contamination and potential electrical non-compliance. The zipper pull on the music box compartment contains lead levels exceeding the federal ban, which is toxic if ingested. Additionally, the Christmas tree component fails to meet mechanical and electrical requirements for battery-operated toys. Approximately 300 units were sold online from November 2023 through February 2025. Consumers will receive a free replacement toy of equal or greater value, including shipping, after marking the product as “RECALLED” and submitting a photo. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Lastly, approximately 140 units of TheKiddoSpace Children’s Sensory Swings are being recalled. The flexible fabric of these swings can form loops that may entangle a child’s head or neck, presenting a risk of serious injury or death from strangulation. The swings were sold online from November 2023 through February 2025. Consumers should stop using the swings immediately and contact TheKiddoSpace for a full refund. To process the refund, consumers must destroy the swing by cutting the fabric in half and submit a photo of the damaged swing. No incidents or injuries have been reported for these swings.
Consumers seeking more information or wishing to initiate a return for any of these recalled products can contact TheKiddoSpace via email at info@thekiddospace.com or visit their website and navigate to the product recalls section.
