The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 4,000 Evajoy above-ground pools that are 48 inches and taller. These pools, manufactured by Shenzhen Danya Tech Co., Ltd., are being recalled due to a potential drowning hazard. The recalled models include EJ-HF032, EJ-HF044, and EJ-HF045. The risk arises from a compression strap that encircles the exterior of the pool legs. This strap can create a foothold, potentially allowing children to gain unauthorized access to the pool, even if a ladder has been removed. The CPSC has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to this specific hazard.

The recalled Evajoy pools were sold online at Amazon.com between March 2023 and June 2024, with prices ranging from $550 to $1,050 depending on the size and included accessories. The model information and Evajoy logo are printed on the pool’s liner. Specifically, model EJ-HF032 measures 16 feet in diameter by 48 inches in height, model EJ-HF044 is 18 feet in diameter by 52 inches in height, and model EJ-HF045 is 24 feet in diameter by 52 inches in height. Consumers are urged to contact Evajoy to obtain a free repair kit designed to remove the compression strap while maintaining the pool’s structural integrity. In the interim, it is advised that consumers prevent children from unsupervised access to the pool or drain the pool until the repair can be completed. For further information or to request the repair kit, consumers can contact Evajoy toll-free at 888-846-2988 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday. They can also reach out via email at support@evajoy.co or visit the company’s website at https://evajoy.co/pages/poolrecall. Additional pool safety resources, including information on barriers, covers, and alarms, are available on the CPSC’s website, PoolSafely.gov.
