The hazard stems from a potential failure of the fan wheel within the pressure washer. This malfunction can lead to abnormal burner operation, which may result in smoke or bursts of flames during use. The recall specifically targets units with a serial number containing a MONTHYEAR code between January 2025 (0125) and August 2025 (0825), and a burner date code between week 01 of 2025 and week 26 of 2025. Consumers can locate the item and serial numbers on a label affixed to the engine. The burner date code is found on a separate label, the placement of which varies by model. For the item #157310, this label is under the battery box. For item #157594, it is under the ball valve assembly, and for item #157595, it is located under the NorthStar logo.

Northern Tool + Equipment sold these affected pressure washers nationwide through their retail stores and online platforms, including NorthernTool.com, Amazon.com, Ebay.com, and GNEDI.com. Sales occurred between January 2025 and August 2025, with prices ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. No injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with this recall.

Consumers who own one of the recalled pressure washers are urged to immediately cease using the equipment. Northern Tool + Equipment is offering a free repair service to address the fire hazard.
