The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County (BGCWC) is set to host its annual Youth of the Year Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 26, at Morgan Hall in Hagerstown, Maryland. This event will celebrate the achievements of its young members and recognize a community figure who has significantly contributed to the lives of local youth. In conjunction with the dinner, the organization has also opened nominations for its 2026 Champion of Youth Award, an honor bestowed upon a community member who has made a lasting positive impact on the youth of Washington County.

The nomination period for the Champion of Youth Award will remain open until Friday, March 6. The selected recipient will be formally recognized during the upcoming awards dinner. During the evening’s proceedings, the BGCWC will also announce the 2026 BGCWC Andrew Hoffman Youth of the Year. This significant honor is presented to an outstanding Club member who embodies the organization’s mission and serves as an ambassador for the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County. This selected Youth of the Year will also have the opportunity to advance to compete for the Maryland Youth of the Year title in May, with this scholarship program providing a pathway for further recognition. Furthermore, the 2026 BGCWC Team Member of the Year will be announced, an award determined by Club staff to acknowledge a dedicated employee who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the Club members and its overarching mission. The evening promises to be a showcase of youth talent, featuring special performances and showcases by Club members.

The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County offers various after-school programs and summer camps in Hagerstown, Maryland, with a mission to empower all young people, particularly those most in need, to achieve their full potential as responsible and engaged citizens. Established in 1941, the organization currently serves approximately 820 young individuals aged 6 to 18 annually.
