Approximately 21,170 units of Bazic Silicone Glue, identified as Model 2030, are being recalled due to significant safety concerns, as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall specifically targets products with the batch code “V01233-031725-70004523” printed on the side of the bottles. This adhesive, sold nationwide in stores and online, poses a substantial risk of serious injury or death to young children if ingested due to its methanol content and inadequate packaging.

The primary hazard associated with this recall stems from the glue’s methanol content. Federal regulations, specifically the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, mandate that products containing methanol must be enclosed in child-resistant packaging to prevent accidental ingestion by children. However, the Bazic Silicone Glue in question does not meet these requirements, as its packaging is not child-resistant. This lapse in safety design significantly increases the likelihood of a child accessing and swallowing the substance, leading to potential poisoning. Furthermore, the product’s labeling violates the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. It is inaccurately marketed as “Non-Toxic,” and it fails to include a crucial “highly flammable” hazard statement, omitting vital information for consumer safety. The glue is described as a transparent plastic bottle with a blue nozzle top and a blue and black wraparound label, bearing markings such as “Bazic,” “Silicone Glue,” and “Clear Adhesive Sealant,” with the model number “2030” appearing above the barcode on the side.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Bazic Silicone Glue are urged to immediately cease its use. To receive a full refund, individuals should contact Bazic Products directly. The company requires consumers to submit a photograph of the product as proof for the refund process. For those seeking to dispose of the product, it is crucial to do so responsibly. Methanol is a hazardous substance, and its disposal should adhere to local and state regulations. Consumers are advised to contact their local hazardous waste treatment centers for proper disposal guidance. Improper disposal, such as pouring it down drains or discarding it in regular garbage, can lead to fires or environmental pollution. No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The recalled Bazic Silicone Glue was available for purchase nationwide at retailers including Shims Bargain Inc., Henry Lamond Co. Ltd., Universal Wholesale, and D’notions & crafts stores. It was also sold online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com. The product was on the market from May 2025 through October 2025, with a retail price of approximately $3 per unit. The importer of the product is Bangkit USA Inc., doing business as Bazic Products, located in El Monte, California. The product was manufactured in China.
