The FCSO received a report of a theft at Tire World, located on Industry Lane, around 11:34 p.m. During their response, a deputy observed a white cargo van leaving the area and initiated a traffic stop. A passenger from the vehicle reportedly fled on foot into a wooded area but was apprehended by deputies following a brief pursuit. The individual was identified as Daniel McVicker, 38 years old. The cargo van was later discovered abandoned in a nearby parking lot. Inside the van, deputies found a significant quantity of stolen tires and bolt cutters.
Investigations revealed that approximately 30 to 40 tires, valued at an estimated $8,000, were stolen from Tire World. The business also sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage to its storefront window. Furthermore, deputies found that a nearby shipping container belonging to Mobile Tire had been forcibly entered. At least eight tires, with an approximate value of $2,000, were reported missing from this container. The investigation also indicated that locks on the shipping container and a company vehicle were cut, leading to additional property damage.
McVicker was taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. At the time of the report, the driver of the cargo van had not been located, and the investigation is continuing. McVicker faces multiple charges, including two counts of Second-Degree Burglary, two counts of Fourth-Degree Burglary for store theft, two counts of Fourth-Degree Burglary for theft, one count of Fourth-Degree Burglary for possession of tools, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools in a Motor Vehicle, one count of Rogue and Vagabond, two counts of Felony Theft ($1,500 to under $25,000), one count of Malicious Destruction of Property ($1,000 or more), one count of Malicious Destruction of Property (less than $1,000), one count of Resisting or Interfering with Arrest, and one count of Obstructing and Hindering.
