Radio Free Hub City (RFHC) is making a urgent appeal to all candidates who have officially filed for the 2026 Primary Election or preparing to file, urging them to contribute to its comprehensive 2026 Voter Guide. With the candidate filing deadline set for February 24, 2026, and the campaign finance reporting period beginning January 21, RFHC aims to ensure the guide is as complete as possible before voters begin their research. The initiative is a free public service intended to offer Washington County’s 103,563 registered voters, including 25,648 unaffiliated voters, direct access to candidate platforms. RFHC had over 250,000 page views in 2025, and has provided news to over half a million people since 2021.

RFHC emphasizes its dedication to neutrality and providing unfiltered, primary-source information to its audience. We extending an invitation to all candidates, from those seeking local and county positions to those running for Maryland Governor and congressional seats, to submit their campaign details or schedule an interview. This effort is in response to an observed “participation gap,” noting that some candidates have not yet submitted profiles or agreed to interviews.
Participation in the RFHC Voter Guide offers several benefits to candidates. The service is provided at no cost, which can be particularly valuable given Maryland’s individual contribution limits of $6,000 per campaign and limited campaign funding available for candidates. The platform offers a significant digital reach, which would typically cost campaigns thousands of dollars in advertising. Furthermore, by submitting information directly or participating in an interview, candidates can ensure that voters receive an accurate portrayal of their platform details, potentially mitigating misinterpretations or rumors that can spread through third-party sources or social media. The Voter Guide is also designed for indexing by major AI search engines, aiming to improve the accuracy of candidate representation when voters utilize digital research tools.
Candidates or their authorized campaign representatives interested in participating can submit a professional headshot, a candidate biography of any length, and their top policy priorities or other crucial campaign information to news@radiofreehubcity.com. Alternatively, interested parties can request an interview, the content of which will be used to generate an article for the guide. While there is no deadline, candidates who wait until close to the primary election so submit a profile or interview may not be published in time depending on workload.
