The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes due to a serious risk of injury or death from ingested magnets. Approximately 9,400 units of these magnetic building cubes are affected by this recall, which was initiated due to concerns that magnets could become dislodged if the product’s seams separate. The recalled items include sets sold under the names “Bold Colors” and “Glitter,” in both 24-piece and 27-piece configurations.

The hazard stems from the powerful magnets contained within the cubes. If a child swallows one or more of these magnets, they can attract to each other or to other metallic objects within the digestive system. This can lead to severe internal injuries, including perforations, twisting, and blockages of the intestines. Such complications can result in life-threatening conditions like blood poisoning and even death. The affected pip-Cubes are described as magnetic building blocks sold in red, green, blue, and yellow for the Bold Colors sets, and purple, pink, blue, and green with glitter for the Glitter sets. The “Crayola” brand name is imprinted on the side of each cube. Consumers can identify the specific recalled models and their corresponding UPC numbers on the bottom of the product packaging.
The 24-piece sets, identified by model number 1000199, were sold at Michael’s stores nationwide and online at Michaels.com for approximately $20. The 27-piece sets, model numbers 1000205 and 1000250, were sold on Amazon.com for around $35. All of these recalled sets were available for purchase between May 2025 and July 2025. The importer of these products is CreateOn, LLC, located in Wheeling, Illinois, and they were manufactured in China. Although no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this specific recall, the CPSC emphasizes the severe potential consequences of swallowing high-powered magnets.
Consumers who have purchased these recalled CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes are urged to immediately cease using the product. It is crucial to remove the magnetic building cubes from children’s reach and contact CreateOn to arrange for a replacement. CreateOn will provide consumers with a prepaid shipping label to return the recalled magnetic cubes. Upon receipt of the returned items, consumers will receive a replacement set. For further assistance or to initiate the replacement process, consumers can contact CreateOn toll-free at 800-333-0549 between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. Alternatively, inquiries can be made via email at pipcuberecall@CreateOn.com or through the company’s website at http://www.createon.com/recall or http://www.createon.com by clicking on the “Recalls” link at the bottom of the page.
