Approximately 10,380 KTEBO-branded Writing Tablet Toys have been recalled, as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall stems from the toys’ failure to meet a mandatory safety standard for children’s products. Specifically, the screw that secures the battery compartment, which houses a button cell battery, does not remain attached as required by law. This poses a significant risk of serious injury or death if a child ingests the button cell battery, a hazard that can lead to internal chemical burns.

The recalled writing tablet toys were sold in sets of two and are available in four color combinations: pink/blue, green/yellow, orange/blue, and purple/red. They also come in two sizes, 8.5 inches and 10 inches, and each set includes a stylus of a matching color. These products were sold exclusively on Amazon.com between September 2025 and October 2025 for prices ranging from $8 to $30. The manufacturer of these toys is Banghe Guangzhou International Trade Co., Ltd., operating as KTEBO, based in China.
Consumers who have purchased these KTEBO Writing Tablet Toys are urged to immediately cease using them. To receive a free replacement set of tablet toys, consumers must first mark the recalled tablets by writing “RECALLED” on the back of each unit. Following this, they should take a photograph of the marked tablets and submit these photos via email to writing-tablet-recall@ktebo.com. The subject line of the email should include “Recall Proof” followed by the consumer’s name. It is also important for consumers to be aware that button cell batteries are hazardous and should be disposed of or recycled according to local hazardous waste guidelines. While no injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with this recall, the potential for severe harm necessitates immediate action from consumers.
