The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a stern warning to consumers, urging them to cease using BeePrincess adult bike helmets immediately due to significant safety violations. Approximately 2,200 of these helmets were sold online between July 2024 and November 2025. The helmets have been found to fall short of mandatory safety standards for bicycle helmets, specifically failing to meet requirements for impact attenuation, retention systems, positional stability, certification, and labeling. These deficiencies mean the helmets could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, leading to a potentially fatal risk of head injury.

The CPSC has officially issued a Notice of Violation to changshalayuanshangmaoyouxiangongsi, a company based in China that operates under the business name BeePrincess. Despite the findings, BeePrincess has not yet committed to recalling the helmets or offering any form of remedy to consumers who purchased them. The helmets were primarily sold on Walmart.com, with prices ranging from $15 to $31. It is also possible that these helmets were available through other online marketplaces and from various third-party sellers. The helmets were designed to fit head circumferences between 22 and 24 inches and were described as being red and black with silver stripes, featuring gray interior padding, a detachable visor, and black straps with a silver reflective pattern. They also included a black and red buckle, a gray chin strap, and a black plastic knob at the rear for size adjustment. The CPSC is aware that BeePrincess also offered helmets in black/white and gray color schemes. These products were manufactured in China.

Consumers are strongly advised by the CPSC to immediately stop using these BeePrincess adult bike helmets. To render them unusable and prevent accidental use or resale, consumers should cut the helmet straps and then dispose of the helmets responsibly. The CPSC also reminds the public that it is against federal law to sell products that are subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall initiated in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers who have experienced an injury or a product defect related to this or any other product are encouraged to report their experiences to the CPSC via the SaferProducts.gov website.
