Since its establishment in 2005, USMH has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the downtown area, fostering workforce development, and providing accessible higher education opportunities. Through strategic partnerships with six universities, USMH offers a diverse array of 15 degree programs, catering to the evolving needs of the region. Over the past twenty years, the institution has not only facilitated academic growth but has also made a tangible economic impact. It has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to deserving students and celebrated the graduation of more than 3,000 individuals. Furthermore, USMH contributes an estimated $24 million annually to the regional economy, underscoring its importance as an economic engine for Hagerstown and its surrounding communities.
The anniversary celebration aims to bring together city officials, community partners, USMH leadership, and the public to acknowledge the institution’s achievements. The event will serve as an opportunity to reflect on two decades of educational innovation and community engagement, while also looking forward to the future of higher education in Hagerstown. Residents are invited to join in this celebration of educational progress and its lasting impact on the community.
