Sauna360 Initiates Recall of Hybrid Saunas Due to Significant Fall Hazard

Per a press release from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sauna360 is recalling approximately 1,000 Tylö Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid saunas due to a defect that can cause the bench seating to collapse. This poses a substantial fall hazard to consumers. The affected saunas were sold nationwide by various distributors between July 2024 and December 2024, with prices ranging from $6,000 to $12,000.

The recall specifically impacts bench seating within Tylö branded Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid sauna rooms. Consumers can identify the serial numbers for their units on both the packaging and the sauna rooms themselves. For the Halmstad 2, 3, and 4 models, the serial number label is located beneath the upper bench on the left side, directly above the electrical contactor box. In the Kiruna Hybrid 2 and 3 models, the serial number label is affixed to the right wall, beneath the right side of the upper bench. The specific recalled model numbers and their associated serial number ranges include TRAD, Tylö Halmstad™ 2, W/BLISS, 15A, 120V, CB21-1, V1; TRAD, Tylö Halmstad™ 2, W/BLISS, 20A, 120V, CB21-1, V1; TRAD, Tylö Halmstad™ 3, W/BLISS, 240V, CB23-1, V1; TRAD, Tylö Halmstad™ 4, W/BLISS, 240V, CB23-1, V1, with serial numbers ranging from CSFxxABTRxx-V1-4933 through CSFxxABTRxx-V1-6970. Additionally, IS, Tylö Kiruna Hybrid™ 2, W/BLISS, 15A, 120V, LOW EMR, CB20-1, V1; IS, Tylö Kiruna Hybrid™ 2, W/BLISS, 20A, 120V, LOW EMR, CB20-1, V1; and IS, Tylö Kiruna Hybrid™ 3, W/BLISS, 240V, LOW EMR, CB22-1, V1, with serial numbers from CSFxxABISxxTL-V1-4964 through CSFxxABISxxTL-V1-7224, are included in this recall. Sauna360, based in Cokato, Minnesota, has received seven reports of the benches breaking, with one incident resulting in head and neck injuries to a consumer. To address this safety concern, the company is offering a free repair. Consumers are strongly advised to cease using the affected sauna benches immediately. Sauna360 will arrange for a professional installer to retrofit the benches with additional hardware to ensure their stability. Along with the repair, customers will receive an updated product manual that includes a specified weight limit for the benches.
