The city of Hagerstown is set to host a series of engaging events throughout November, offering residents and visitors a variety of activities ranging from spooky Halloween tours to festive holiday markets and historical commemorations. These events, organized by Hagerstown Parks & Recreation and Downtown Hagerstown Main Street, aim to foster community spirit and provide entertainment for all ages.

The month kicks off with “City Park Ghost Tours” on Friday, October 31, 2025. Participants can choose between the Hager House Ghost Tour, an hour-long indoor experience priced at 20perperson,ortheHauntedTrainHub,anhour−longoutdoortourcosting20perperson,ortheHauntedTrainHub,anhour−longoutdoortourcosting10 per person. Both tours will have showings at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Due to limited space, early registration is strongly encouraged.
Following Halloween, Saturday, November 1, 2025, will feature the Hagerstown ECYCLES Day at Fairgrounds Park from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event, exclusively for City of Hagerstown residents, provides an opportunity to recycle electronics and shred documents free of charge. For inquiries, individuals can contact 301-739-8577 x106. On the same day, the Jonathan Hager Week Kick-off will take place at the Hager House starting at 10:00 AM. This event will celebrate the founder of Hagerstown with live music, activities, and a self-guided walking tour.
A week later, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the community will gather for the Jonathan Hager Celebration of Life ceremony at Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, located at 201 N Potomac St, beginning at 6:00 PM. This ceremony is intended to honor Jonathan Hager’s life and legacy.
The “2nd Saturday: ART WALK” is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025, transforming Downtown Businesses from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event will feature artists setting up on South Potomac Street for Plein Air on Potomac Street, buskers stationed throughout downtown, and a traditional German puppet show in Potomac Walk commencing every hour from 2:30 PM. Additionally, an art show will be held at Wertman Photography, and Hub City Brewery will host live German music, including a specialty brew named in honor of Jonathan Hager.
Later in the month, on Friday, November 21, 2025, The Maryland Theatre will host “Holly Fest” at 7:00 PM. This event will showcase free live performances by various youth groups, including dance, singing, and instrumental ensembles. Tickets can be reserved in person at The Maryland Theatre or by calling 301-790-2000.
The holiday festivities continue on Saturday, November 22, 2025, with the “Holiday Market” on South Potomac Street from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The market will feature over 30 handmade artisan vendors offering unique gifts and holiday items, from jewelry and décor to crafts and seasonal treats. This event aims to support local makers and promote community spirit. On the same evening, the annual “Downtown Tree Lighting” will take place at Public Square from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The tradition will include a visit with Santa inside Create-a-Candle, complimentary hot cocoa outside Cannon Coffee, bounce houses, and music from the North Hagerstown High School band, alongside shopping opportunities with over 30 vendors.
