The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) recently convened an industry forum to outline plans for a substantial safety upgrade to the Bay Bridge, a project estimated to cost approximately $177 million. The MDTA emphasized its commitment to safety and infrastructure improvements across its toll facilities. The upcoming project is designed to enhance the protection of the Bay Bridge through its construction. Professionals from the marine industry, including prime contractors and subcontractors, were invited to attend the forum to gain insights into the project.
The event featured a detailed presentation by MDTA representatives covering the Design-Build project delivery method, the procurement process, and opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises. Attendees had the chance to ask questions regarding the upcoming procurement. All materials distributed and discussed at the forum will be made available on the project website in the near future for those who were unable to attend. A recording of the session will also be posted online for public access.
