An adult female staff member at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School was taken to the hospital for assessment after being struck in the head with a student’s personal communication device on school grounds. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:20 AM today, resulted in the staff member briefly losing consciousness. According to information released by the school, the student involved in the incident was picked up from school.
The school administration emphasized that the safety and well-being of students and staff are paramount. They assured the school community that appropriate actions have been taken and that the matter is being addressed in accordance with Washington County Public Schools’ established policies and procedures. The incident also gained attention on social media, prompting the school to provide accurate information to families.
