Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC has initiated a safety recall for certain 2023 Range Rover Evoque models due to a defect that can affect the rear-facing camera. The issue involves water ingress into the camera, potentially leading to a distorted or completely absent image on the vehicle’s touchscreen. This malfunction could compromise a driver’s awareness of surrounding objects and pedestrians, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.

The recall encompasses approximately 3,818 vehicles manufactured between March 3, 2022, and March 7, 2023. The defect arises from a component within the rear camera assembly, specifically identified as a Pressure Compensation Element, which may delaminate and allow moisture to enter. While Jaguar Land Rover has received 61 claims and field reports in the U.S. related to this concern between October 2022 and April 2025, no accidents, injuries, or fires have been reported in connection with this issue.
To address the problem, Jaguar Land Rover will be replacing the rear camera on all affected vehicles at no cost to the owners. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles if they observe any issues with the rear camera image and to park their vehicles outside until the repair is completed. Dealers will be notified of the recall on October 9, 2025, and owner notification letters are scheduled to be distributed on or before November 21, 2025. The VIN lookup tool to determine if a specific vehicle is affected will be available on or around the date of the owner notification.
