The affected Jeep Wagoneer vehicles were manufactured between March 8, 2021, and February 29, 2024, with 91,202 units potentially impacted. For the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the production dates for the affected vehicles range from February 24, 2021, to February 29, 2024, with 32,194 units identified as potentially having the defect. The issue stems from the quarter window trim potentially not being properly secured at the supplier level, leading to its detachment from the vehicle. While the manufacturer is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this defect, there have been customer assistance records, warranty claims, and service records indicating potential issues. Owners may notice the quarter window trim beginning to separate from the vehicle, serving as a potential warning sign.
The supplier for the affected component is identified as Fuyao Automotive North America, Inc. The specific component in question is the quarter window trim, described as part of the glass assembly. The company has stated that the remedy for this defect is currently under development. Production changes have been implemented to correct the condition, with vehicles manufactured after the suspect period no longer being shipped with the potentially problematic trim.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) plans to notify dealers about the recall on or about October 2, 2025. Owners of the affected vehicles are expected to receive notification letters starting around November 14, 2025. The company has indicated that the remedy will be implemented in a phased approach. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the recalled vehicles will be searchable on October 2, 2025, allowing owners to check their vehicle’s status. Information regarding the specific remedy, including how it will differ from the recalled component, is still being developed. A general reimbursement plan is on file for this recall.
For owners of the affected Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, it is advised to be vigilant for any signs of detachment of the quarter window trim. If such signs are observed, the manufacturer suggests parking the vehicle outside and notes that the remedy is under development. The recall is voluntary, and further information will be provided to owners as the remedy plan is finalized.
