Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is initiating a voluntary safety recall affecting approximately 163,735 model year 2022 through 2025 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The recall addresses a potential defect where the front door daylight opening (DLO) trim may detach from the vehicle due to improper securing during assembly. Owners of affected vehicles are advised not to drive or to park their vehicles outside as a precautionary measure.

The defect involves the upper molding assembly for the front door’s daylight opening. These trim pieces may not have been adequately secured at the assembly plant. The period of concern for affected vehicles began on February 24, 2021, for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and March 8, 2021, for the Jeep Wagoneer, with production of vehicles potentially affected ending on February 1, 2025. Vehicles manufactured after this date are believed to have been corrected in production.

The primary safety risk associated with this issue is that a detached DLO trim piece could become a road hazard, potentially causing other vehicles to crash without warning. While customers might notice the trim separating from the vehicle, FCA US is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this specific issue as of August 29, 2025. However, the company has recorded 405 warranty claims, three field reports, and 112 other service records potentially related to this concern between March 2, 2022, and August 1, 2025.

Chrysler will conduct a recall to inspect the DLO trim and, if necessary, replace it. This recall addresses an assembly issue rather than a defect within the component itself. The remedy will ensure the trim is properly secured to the vehicle.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Chrysler. Dealers are scheduled to be notified by September 18, 2025, and owners will begin to be notified around October 31, 2025, with a phased recall process. The Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for these vehicles will be searchable by September 18, 2025. A general reimbursement plan is on file for any owners who may have incurred costs related to this issue prior to the recall.
