This year’s Charm City Live will feature performances by national recording artists including Lucky Day, The-Dream, Jeffrey Osborne, and Vivian Green. Complementing the musical acts, the festival will host numerous local food and merchandise vendors, providing opportunities to sample regional cuisine and purchase unique goods. For families, a dedicated Kids Zone will offer a variety of entertainment, such as animal ambassadors from the Carrie Murray Nature Center, face painting, inflatable games, and oversized games. Younger attendees can also engage in STEM activities and experience a virtual reality avatar kiosk in partnership with the Peale Museum. Additionally, a basketball pop-up activation sponsored by DTLR and a smoothie bike activation by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks are planned.
Beyond entertainment, the Charm City Live festival will serve as a platform for community engagement and career development. Hosted by the Baltimore City Department of Human Resources (DHR), the event will provide an opportunity for attendees to explore career pathways and learn about employment opportunities with various city agencies. Resources, including QR codes linking to online applications, and networking opportunities with agency leaders will be available.
Organizers are advising attendees to plan ahead for the event, noting specific entry requirements and prohibited items. There will be two designated entrances to the festival, both equipped with security checkpoints. The north entrance will be located on Gay Street, south of E. Saratoga Street, while the south entrance will be on Gay Street, north of E. Baltimore Street. For security reasons, several items will not be permitted inside the festival grounds. These include weapons of any kind (including mace), outside food or drink, large bags, backpacks, professional cameras (GoPros are permitted), and recording devices. Guests with necessary medication should place it in a small, clear bag. A key policy for families is that all guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone aged 21 or older. Each adult is permitted to accompany a maximum of six minors. Attendees may be asked to present a valid photo ID to verify their age, and entry will be denied to individuals who appear to be under 16 and are not accompanied by an adult or do not have proof of age.
Residents and visitors should also be aware of several road closures and detours that will be in effect on September 20, 2025, to accommodate the festival. Closures are expected on Gay, Baltimore, Saratoga, Lexington, and Fayette Streets in downtown Baltimore. Detour routes will be in place to help navigate around the affected areas. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns, with an encouragement to seek alternate routes to avoid potential delays. Specific detour instructions for various directions of travel are available for those needing to traverse the downtown area during the event.
Charm City Live is a significant event for the city, drawing thousands of attendees to War Memorial Plaza. It offers a free day of entertainment, local commerce, and community interaction. Residents interested in more details or updates are encouraged to visit the Charm City Live website.
