The incident took place on April 8, 2024, when Snyder led Pennsylvania State Police on a chase that reached speeds of 90 miles per hour through Union and Snyder counties. When authorities apprehended him, Snyder was found in possession of approximately 376 grams of methamphetamine, $1,390.40 in cash, a loaded stolen revolver stored in the driver’s side door, and a stolen vehicle.

Snyder pleaded guilty on March 6, 2025, and was sentenced on July 24 by Chief U.S. District Judge Matthew W. Brann. The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case.

This case was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun offenses by fostering partnerships between law enforcement and local communities. The program emphasizes trust-building, supporting violence prevention efforts, and data-driven enforcement strategies to improve public safety.

For residents of Snyder and Union counties, this sentencing removes a repeat offender involved in dangerous criminal activity from the streets, reinforcing efforts to curtail drug trafficking and associated violence in central Pennsylvania.
