Per an updated press release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), federal agents have arrested over 360 illegal aliens and rescued at least 14 children during coordinated operations targeting illicit marijuana cultivation sites in Carpinteria and Camarillo, California. The raids, which took place on July 10, 2025, led to the discovery of unaccompanied migrant children believed to be at risk of human trafficking and forced labor. According to DHS, ten of these minors have been transferred to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for care and placement. Authorities say the operation disrupted a potential criminal network exploiting vulnerable individuals, including children, under the guise of agricultural work.

Among those taken into custody were individuals with previous convictions for serious offenses such as rape, child molestation, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and assault. Several had been deported multiple times or voluntarily returned to their home countries, only to reenter the United States illegally. DHS identified notable cases including individuals from Mexico and El Salvador with histories of violence, weapons charges, and narcotics distribution.
