Kerr County in the Texas Hill Country has been among the hardest hit, with emergency responders continuing search and rescue operations. As of now, 850 people have been rescued. The United States Coast Guard is operating continuously in affected areas such as Llano, deploying helicopters and aircraft equipped with thermal imaging to locate additional survivors.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has been coordinating with Governor Greg Abbott and local officials, reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to delivering the necessary aid. The Department of Homeland Security emphasized it will provide resources to ensure a timely and effective response to the disaster.

Texas residents in federally designated disaster areas who experienced property damage or other losses are encouraged to first contact their insurance providers. Afterward, they can apply for federal assistance online at http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov, via the FEMA App, or by calling 1-800-621-3362. Those using relay services should provide FEMA with the appropriate service contact number.
