The Chambersburg Police Department has issued a notice regarding the incident, which has been classified as non-criminal. Authorities are encouraging anyone who sees Poseidon or may have information about his whereabouts to either submit a tip online or contact the department directly. The urgency is heightened by potential risks to the dog’s safety, especially with the summer holiday bringing increased traffic and fireworks in residential areas.

Residents are urged to check their properties, including sheds and garages, as dogs frightened by loud noises like fireworks often seek shelter in enclosed or quiet spaces. Poseidon’s disappearance underscores the importance of securing pets during holiday celebrations, particularly those involving fireworks which can be distressing for animals.
