The incident began when Reigh, a Hagerstown resident, addressed the commissioners and raised allegations against John Barr, the current commissioner president, attempting to introduce materials from a past civil case, calling for the commissioner to resign. County officials noted that the accusations in the civil case had already been adjudicated, ruled the topic irrelevant to county business, and directed Reigh to move on. When he persisted, commissioners called for a recess and asked the room to be cleared. Allegedly after the video feed was stopped, Reigh refused to comply with orders to leave, leading to his arrest by a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy.
Editor’s note: Due to the nature and circumstances regarding the allegations and their questionable legal status, we will not be publishing them here.
Reigh faces two misdemeanor charges: trespassing in a public agency during operational hours and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order. He was booked on June 3, 2025, under case number D-112-CR-25-001165 in the District Court for Washington County. He was released on his own recognizance the same day.
