Hagerstown’s Parks & Recreation Department and partnering organizations are bringing a wide variety of free and low-cost events to the community throughout June 2025, offering music, history, family fun, and shopping. Residents and visitors can look forward to outdoor concerts, historical reenactments, character meet-and-greets, farmers markets, and lively street festivals, all set against the backdrop of the city’s vibrant parks and downtown areas.

The entertainment kicks off on June 4 with a free performance by Rhet Troxell at the City Park Bandshell. Two days later, families can meet the beloved character Bluey at the City Park Train Hub with a $5 admission fee covering a family of three. Historical enthusiasts can engage with living historians at the Hager House on June 7 for the “1775: Hager’s Town Revolt” event, which will include militia drills and musket demonstrations. That same afternoon, children and families are invited to Potterfield Pool for a summer kickoff party featuring appearances by Spongebob and Patrick.
Sunday events will feature the City Farmers Market at Hub City Brewery and free performances by the Hagerstown Municipal Band, continuing throughout the month. Highlights include performances by Marcella Diehl and a special Elk’s Flag Day celebration. The Outdoor Movie Series will feature “Sonic 3” on June 13 and “Moana 2” on June 27, offering families the chance to enjoy free films under the stars. The Community Yard Sale on June 14 will provide shoppers access to over 70 vendors at Fairgrounds Park.

The festivities extend beyond the parks, with the South Potomac Street closed for the 2nd Saturday Summer Street Festival on June 14, which will feature mini-golf, bounce houses, and face painting at no cost. On the same day, University Plaza will host “Dance on the Plaza,” a free event showcasing various dance styles and fitness demonstrations. The city’s Juneteenth Celebration at Wheaton Park on June 21, organized by the Doleman Black Heritage Museum, will commemorate African American freedom and heritage. Meanwhile, the Miss Maryland pageant will take place at The Maryland Theatre on June 20 and 21.
Throughout June, the City Farmers Market will continue to operate every Sunday at Hub City Brewery, and the Hagerstown Municipal Band will hold its concert series on Sunday evenings. Rides with Tommy 202 at the City Park Train Hub on June 28 will delight younger visitors with tractor wagon rides, wrapping up a month filled with events designed to bring the community together.
