KTM AG has issued a recall for more than 19,000 off-road motorcycles sold under the GASGAS and Husqvarna brands in the United States due to a potentially defective front brake caliper that could crack and reduce braking performance, creating a crash hazard. An additional 3,870 units sold in Canada are also affected by the recall, which includes model years 2022 through 2025. No injuries or incidents related to the defect have been reported at this time.

The recall covers a wide range of models, including GASGAS EX 350F and Husqvarna TE 250i among others. These motorcycles were sold at authorized dealers nationwide between January 2022 and August 2024 with retail prices ranging from $10,000 to $13,000. The front brake caliper issue affects braking system reliability and poses a risk to riders if not addressed. Consumers are being instructed to immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles.

KTM, which manufactures the motorcycles in Austria, is offering free inspections and repairs through its authorized GASGAS and Husqvarna dealerships. Affected owners will be contacted directly, and they can also verify whether their vehicle is impacted by checking the VIN at the brands’ official websites. The VIN, which helps identify the model year, can be found on the right side of the motorcycle’s steering head.

Model years are identified by specific letters in the 10th position of the VIN: “N” for 2022, “P” for 2023, “R” for 2024, and “S” for 2025. The recall spans multiple models across both brands, including the Husqvarna FE, TE, and TX series and the GASGAS EC, EX, and MC series. Full lists of affected models and VIN verification tools are available on the GASGAS and Husqvarna websites. KTM urges all owners to schedule inspections promptly.
