Igloo Products Corp. has expanded its recall of 90-quart rolling coolers after receiving dozens of injury reports linked to the product’s tow handle design. The recall, initially announced in February 2025, now includes approximately 1.2 million coolers due to risks of fingertip amputation and crushing injuries.

An additional 130,000 units sold in the U.S., along with about 20,000 in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico, have been added to the recall. The coolers, known as Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, were manufactured before January 2024 and sold through retailers including Costco, Target, Academy, and Dick’s, as well as online platforms like Amazon.com and igloocoolers.com between January 2019 and January 2025. The affected models—34692, 34785, and 34790—feature various color combinations and a tow handle that has been shown to pose significant hazards.

The recalled models can be identified by a manufacturing date code located on the bottom of the cooler, indicating production between July 2020 and February 2023. Since the original recall, 78 incidents have been reported, with 26 cases resulting in serious injuries such as fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.
