Vaughn, who launched his career as a teenage weather observer in the 1970s, began NowCast with a single station in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. That station, WRGG, continues to broadcast NowCast forecasts today. The network’s expansion accelerated after Vaughn brought meteorologist and technology specialist James Covington on board in 2017. By 2020, the company had grown to 52 stations and began hiring additional meteorologists to meet rising demand.

The company’s appeal lies in its combination of professional-grade forecasts and competitive pricing. NowCast now employs 12 meteorologists, many with experience in television, aviation, or other weather services. Staff also includes advanced meteorology students, bringing a mix of expertise and innovation to the team. The company is headquartered just outside of Ringgold in Washington County, Maryland, and is recognized as one of the region’s fastest-growing businesses.
