A voluntary recall has been issued for 2,300 units of Benadryl Liquid Elixir, 100 mL bottles, after the product was found to violate federal child safety packaging regulations. Distributed by Arsell Inc. and sold exclusively through Amazon.com, the product’s packaging lacks the required child-resistant features, posing a risk of poisoning if accessed by young children.

The recall affects Benadryl Liquid Elixir contained in round dark plastic bottles with pink and white labeling and packaged in similarly colored paper boxes. The affected units are marked with the code “X003VRIGUL” on a white label on the bottom of the outer packaging. While the medicine itself is not defective, the bottle’s design does not comply with the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, which mandates child-resistant packaging for medications containing diphenhydramine.
Consumers are instructed to immediately store the product out of reach of children and contact Arsell for a full refund. The company is asking consumers to submit their Amazon order number and a photo showing proper disposal of the product to the dedicated recall email address. All known purchasers are being contacted directly by the company. There have been no reported injuries or incidents associated with the product.
