SSA is expediting payments through automation, significantly reducing the time required to process most cases. While complex cases that require manual processing may take longer, the agency expects only a small percentage of cases to experience delays. Beneficiaries will receive a mailed notice detailing their adjusted benefits or retroactive payments, though the payments may arrive before the notices. SSA advises beneficiaries to wait until April before inquiring about payment statuses to allow time for processing.
