The recall applies to specific models, including RY401014BTLUS, RY401014US, RY401140US, RY401140US-Y, RY401015BTLUS, RY401015US, RY401150US, RY401150US-Y, RY401020, and RY401200. The affected mowers, which have a black cutting deck, gray top housing, and a black grass collection bag featuring the “RYOBI” logo, were sold at Home Depot, Direct Tools Factory Outlet stores, and online between February 2021 and January 2025. These units were priced between $500 and $700.

TTI has received 97 reports of the mowers overheating while in use, including five cases where the malfunction resulted in fires. Two incidents led to minor burn injuries. Consumers who own these models are advised to stop using them immediately and contact TTI for instructions on disabling the product and obtaining a free replacement mower. The recalled mowers were manufactured in the United States by TTI Outdoor Power Equipment Inc., based in Anderson, South Carolina.
