HAGERSTOWN, MD News (11/13/2024) – Friendship Lodge No. 84 in Hagerstown is set to hold a Holiday Food Drive to address local food insecurity and support community members in need. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the lodge’s location on 70 E. Washington Street in Hagerstown.

With an estimated 9,973 Hagerstown residents living in poverty, this event comes at a critical time. According to the Maryland Food Bank, one in three Marylanders currently faces food insecurity, underscoring the urgent need for community-driven initiatives like this one.
The Holiday Food Drive will accept non-perishable food items as well as monetary donations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, bringing a festive touch to the event while supporting a meaningful cause.
This effort by Friendship Lodge No. 84 provides Hagerstown residents with an opportunity to make a positive impact and assist those experiencing food insecurity during the holiday season.
