Marylanders still have the opportunity to request mail-in ballots. To receive a ballot by mail, voters must submit their request by October 29. For those preferring web delivery, the deadline to request a ballot is November 1. More information on mail-in ballots is available on SBE’s official website.

Jared DeMarinis, State Administrator for the SBE, emphasized the convenience and security of the mail-in voting process, urging Marylanders to plan their voting method ahead of time. “Mail-in ballots are a convenient and secure way to cast your vote in the upcoming election,” said DeMarinis. “Marylanders who want to cast a mail-in ballot should submit their request as soon as possible and have a plan to cast their ballot either by secure drop box or the U.S. Postal Service. Voters with questions about their voting options should contact SBE or follow us on social media as their trusted source of election information.”

The SBE also announced that 286 ballot drop boxes have been installed across the state, including Baltimore City. Voters who choose to use drop boxes may submit their completed ballots at any official drop box within their county of residence until 8 p.m. on November 5. If returning ballots by mail, they must be postmarked on or before the same deadline.

There are three options for casting a vote in Maryland’s 2024 Presidential General Election: mail-in voting, early voting, or voting on Election Day. Early voting will take place from October 24 through October 31, with early voting centers open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Marylanders can find the list of early voting locations on the SBE website.

For voters planning to vote in person on Election Day, November 5, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The SBE encourages voters to verify their polling location, as some sites have changed since the July primary.

In addition, the SBE is marking National Voter Registration Month by encouraging Maryland residents to register to vote. The deadline for advance registration is October 15. Interested individuals can register online or in person at their local board of elections office. The SBE is also seeking election judges and encourages Marylanders to apply through the SBE website or their local elections board.

For further details on voting options, voter registration, and election judge opportunities, Marylanders are encouraged to visit the Maryland State Board of Elections’ website or follow the SBE on social media.
