Expanded Allegiant Flight Schedule
Responding to increased demand, HGR has expanded its Allegiant flight schedule. Flights to popular destinations like Myrtle Beach, Orlando/Sanford, and St. Pete/Clearwater will see a nearly 40% increase compared to 2023, totaling approximately 300 flights for the year. This summer, passengers can expect up to 10 weekly flights, offering more convenience and flexibility for travelers.
Taxiway F Enhancement
A major component of the airport’s improvement plan is the enhancement of Taxiway F. Supported by a 90% Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant, this project involves relocating part of Taxiway F to improve its lateral distance from the primary Runway 09-27. The project also includes rehabilitating the asphalt pavement and installing new LED lights and signs. These upgrades are designed to enhance pilot visibility and guidance, thereby improving overall safety.

Runway 09-27 Lighting & Signage Upgrade
Runway 09-27 will undergo a significant lighting and signage upgrade, also primarily funded by a 90% FAA grant. This project will replace outdated incandescent bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights and signs. The new installations are expected to reduce energy consumption and improve runway visibility, benefiting both sustainability and operational safety.
Taxiway C Object Free Area Improvement
Improving the safety of Taxiway C is another priority. This project, backed by a 90% FAA grant, involves paving a strip of asphalt near the West Apron and T-Hangar Access Areas. Enhanced markings will address a movement “Hot Spot” at the intersection of West Apron, Taxiway A, and Taxiway C, mitigating potential hazards and ensuring safer navigation for airport users.
