Second UFO Sighting in Hagerstown This Year – What Was It?

HAGERSTOWN, MD News (9/22/2023) – For the second time this year, witnesses have claimed to see a UFO hovering over the skies of Hagerstown. On the evening of September 9, 2023, at approximately 5:25 pm, an unusual sighting in the skies above Hagerstown, Maryland, left witnesses baffled and intrigued. The incident, which occurred near the Valley Mall, involved a stationary flat, oblong object that appeared white, silver, and reflective.

The sighting was reported on the same day to the UFO reporting database UFOStalker, under Case ID F22PXG3F. The witness, who was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by their daughter, provided a detailed description of the event.

The witness described the conditions as being overcast due to storms in the area, with dark clouds dominating the sky. Amidst this atmospheric backdrop, they noticed a stark contrast—an object that stood out due to its flat or oblong shape, characterized by a reflective surface. Strikingly, this object lacked any discernible lights or flashing signals.

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of the sighting was the fact that this object remained entirely stationary. Despite its stationary position, it bore some resemblance to an aircraft, though it did not exhibit any signs of typical aircraft movement. The witness noted their vehicle was driving in the opposite direction, preventing them from capturing a photograph as they were engrossed in trying to identify the object. They attempted to circle back to get a closer look but were unable to locate it again.

Considering the location of the sighting, near the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, it is plausible that others in the area may have witnessed the same phenomenon. The witness suggested that due to the object’s presence in a populated area, it is likely that more individuals might have seen it.

The UFOStalker report provides some specific details about the sighting:

Distance: The object was estimated to be between 501 feet and 1 mile away from the witness.
Altitude: It appeared to be positioned at an altitude of over 500 feet, just beneath the cloud cover.
Features: The features of the object were described as unknown, leaving the witness unable to identify any conventional aircraft components.
Flight Path: The object’s most unusual characteristic was its complete lack of movement, as it remained stationary in the sky.
Shape: The witness likened the object’s shape to that of a “Tic Tac.”
