FREDERICK, MD News (3/17/2023) – A tragic incident occurred on March 16, 2023, near the 4200 block of Araby Church Road in Urbana, Maryland, where a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe backed over a man in his driveway. The man, whose name is being withheld at the request of his family, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene by Frederick County Fire & Rescue.
According to reports from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was being operated by the man’s wife when the incident occurred. The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.
DFRS personnel will transport the deceased to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Next of kin notifications have been made by FCSO deputies, and the family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
This tragedy serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of taking precautions and staying aware of one’s surroundings when operating a vehicle.
