Imagine Hagerstown 2022 Concludes on Caribbean Note(s)

Hagerstown, MD News (9/16/2022) – The Imagine Hagerstown Fourth Friday Music Series presents its 2022 concert finale September 23 from 5-8pm in University Plaza at 50 W. Washington Street.

220, a classic and modern rock cover band, kicks off the evening by returning to the stage in Hagerstown for the second time in just over a year. The five-man group, formed in Indiana in 1999, often includes songs from Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, and Ozzy Osbourne in their setlist. While 220 has played many international shows, the guys are as excited as they have been for any show to bring their brand of high-energy rock back to the Hub City again.

Then, the positive vibes created by a whole different musical genre, firmly planted in Jamaica and consisting of “strong vocals over heavy duty original reggae riddims,” are sure to fill University Plaza when headliner Jah Works perform. Fresh off the DC World Reggae Festival last month, the 7-man band from Baltimore with nine albums to their credit and independent record sales in excess of 100,000, is set to deliver the fullness of reggae music and culture to those who know and introduce it to those who don’t. Jah Works continue a 29-year mission to cement their standing as one of the greatest reggae groups to ever hail from the United States. Next stop: Hagerstown!

The Imagine Hagerstown Fourth Friday Music Series is a free, BYO event! Event-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and get a takeout meal from one of Downtown’s terrific restaurants. Alcohol in non-breakable containers is permitted.

Imagine Hagerstown is proudly based in Hagerstown’s Arts & Entertainment District. It is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council (msac.org) and the Washington County Arts Council, and is sponsored by Noel’s Fire Protection and AmeriServ Bank.
